There will be a youth opening downstairs after the 8:15 service. Kids of ALL AGES are welcome to come. We will have hot chocolate and treats. There will also be a devotion and a time to share what’s going on in our lives and upcoming youth events.  

TOBY MAC Concert is tonight!!!! I have the tickets!!! For those that are going, please be at the church by 4:30 pm so that we can go out and eat together prior to the concert. The show begins at 6:30. I would imagine we will be back at the church before 10:00 this evening. 

The youth will be setting up, preparing, serving and cleaning up for the LENTEN MEAL on Wednesday, March 17Please sign up if you will be able to help out by providing items for the meal, dessert items and beverages. I will need you to be here by 5:00 pm to get everything ready to go. An email with more details was sent out this week!!! 

7th/8th Grade Retreat at Camp Kinard on March 19 – 21

Please pray for safe travel to Camp Kinard and back and a wonderful weekend for our 5 attendees, which are Logan Patton, Brooke BaynhamSeth Rozsnyai and Jenny and Katy Lewis. Details on transportation are being worked out. This is their first “official” LCY Retreat, even though they have been to many Synod events over the years.

Our SYNOD does an incredible job of providing amazing retreats and conferences for our young people!!!  

Club 456 is Saturday, March 26 at Pisgah Lutheran Church in Lexington. All current 4th/5th/6th graders are eligible. Deadline to sign up is Monday, March 15.

    There will be a youth opening downstairs after the 8:15 service. Kids of all ages are invited to come and have some hot chocolate and treats. We will also have a devotion and a time to catch up on youth happenings!!! 

    7th/8th Grade Retreat at Camp Kinard on March 19 – 21

    There are five youth signed up to attend: Logan Patton, Seth Rozsnyai, Brooke Baynham, Katy and Jenny Lewis.  I need the $25.00 deposit TODAY. Details on transportation to and from this retreat are being worked out. Stay tuned!!! 

    The van is FULL for the TOBY MAC Concert on March 14 at the Aiken Convocation Center. The concert begins at 6:30 and we do have ticketed seats. I would like us to be in our seats by 6:00. Let’s meet at the church at 4:30 and grab a quick dinner together before we head off to Aiken. I would imagine we will be done by 9:00ish and back at the church by 9:30ish.

    WADE CENTER MISSION TRIP

    JULY 17 – 23 IN BLUEFIELD, W. VA.

    We have 18 people signed up for this trip and I need the $50.00 deposit as soon as possible. Please see me on Sunday if I do not have your deposit by that time!!!

    There will be a youth opening downstairs in the KidZone/Youth Room. Kids of all ages are invited to join us for hot chocolate, treats, devotion time and the latest updates on our youth and their activities. 

    7th/8th Grade Retreat on March 19 -21 at Camp Kinard

    We have five youth signed up to attend this retreat: Logan Patton, Seth Rozsnyai, Brooke Baynham and Katy and Jenny Lewis. I need the $25.00 deposit for this retreat by March 8.

    Please sign up or let me know TODAY if you are interested in attending. The tickets can only be purchased online and must be purchased ahead of time. Once they are purchased, they must be paid for, whether you attend or not.  

    WADE CENTER MISSION TRIP

    JULY 17 – 23, 2010

    A deposit of $50.00 per person is required and must be in the mail next week. I sent out a separate email regarding this trip earlier this week to those who have signed up. Please get me the deposit money on Sunday if at all possible.  

    A reminder that we will be celebrating the Lenten season as a church family with a Lenten Service and meal on Wednesday evenings beginning at 6:00 pm. I look forward to seeing you there!!!!

We will have a Youth Opening on Sunday downstairs in the KidZone. Kids of all ages are invited to join us for hot chocolate and treats and devotion AND to catch up with all the youth happenings.

YOUTH GROUP will meet on Sunday at 5:30

We will have pizza for dinner and watch the movie “Taking Chance”. Please feel free to Google this wonderful movie for more information. Parents are welcome to attend but let me know so I can provide enough pizza for everyone!!! **Special Note – we will not be done until 7:45 due to the length of the movie and discussion afterwards**.

7th/8th Grade Retreat at Camp Kinard on March 19 -21

The theme is “Faith Factor”. Cost is $25.00 per person. Deadline to sign up is Friday, Feburary 26. Please sign up on the bulletin boards or contact Mary Evelyn about your interest in attending.

Lenten Season is here again!! We will be enjoying a meal and a program as church family each Wednesday, beginning Wed, Feb. 24 at 6:00. I encourage you to attend and be a part of this very special time in our church year as we set our eyes on Easter, which is Sunday, April 4.

Mission Trip 2010 on July 17 to 23 in Bluefield, West Virginia

Holy Trinity youth and adults will revisit The Wade Center to help them continue their mission to the people of Bluefield. A $50.00 deposit per person is due by March 1. Youth who have completed 6th to 12th grade are eligible to attend.

  • Thank you so much to Ulla Ellefson for providing an absolutely delicious meal on Sunday for the youth and adults!!! We love lasagna!!!
  • WESTERN CONFERENCE WINTER GATHERING

SATURDAY, FEB. 6 AT CAMP KINARD

There are youth that have signed up for this event. I need someone to volunteer to take them and go and get them. You will need to take your own vehicle. I will be at Lutheridge at the CampFirmation Retreat and the church van will be with me. The youth need to be at Camp Kinard by 9:30 am and picked up by 5:30 pm. PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP IF YOU CAN DO THIS FOR OUR YOUTH!!!

  • SOUPER BOWL OF CARING

SUNDAY, FEB. 7

There will be youth with buckets who will take your monetary donations at the end of both the 8:15 and the 11:00 service. If you desire to bring actual food items, there is a big red tub in the Fellowship Hall. All donations will go to CMONA!!!

  • Winter Jam at the James Brown Arena on Thursday, Feb. 11 !!!! Doors open at 6:00. We need to be there by 5:00!!! Tickets are $10.00 at the door. Last day to sign up is Sunday, Jan. 31. Remember, this is a school night!!
  • SKI TRIP TO LUTHEROCK

FEB. 12 TO FEB. 15

We will be staying at Lutherock and enjoying our meals and having a LEAP program with other Lutheran youth. The skiing will be at Sugar Mountain and conditions are excellent. We are still working out departure times. Final payments are due on Sun. Feb. 7.

      There will be a Youth Opening downstairs in the Youth Room on Sunday, beginning at approximately 9:15 am. Youth of all ages are invited to attend!!!

  • YOUTH GROUP will meet on Sunday at 5:30. We will have our meal in the Fellowship Hall and then have the program downstairs. Come and bring a friend!!!
  • CAMPFIRMATION RETREAT WILL BE FEB. 5 -7 AT LUTHERIDGE!!! Stay tuned for final details on time of departure, what to bring, etc. All 7 of our current confirmation class students will be attending this year!!! Vickie Patton and Mary Evelyn will be joining the youth for this wonderful weekend.

You MUST sign up if you are interested in going!!! I will be at Lutheridge and will have the church van there, so OTHER transportation arrangements will need to be made. Will need volunteers to get the youth to and from this event!!!

Please bring your donations of soups and other canned foods. The food will go to CMONA.

  • Steve Green and Larnelle Harris in concert on Friday evening, Feb. 12 at West Acres Baptist Church, Evans

Tickets are $10.00 for adults/$5.00 for children and must be purchased in advance. Call 706-863-2905 X136 to purchase tickets. Tickets can be held at “will call”.

  • SKI TRIP AT LUTHEROCK – FEB. 12 TO 15

Details about departure times, what to bring, etc will be discussed at youth meeting on Sunday. If you are going on the ski trip, PLEASE be at the meeting Sunday.

    This Sunday, beginning at approximately 9:15, the youth will meet downstairs for the Youth Opening. Youth of all ages are invited to attend. We will have treats and discuss the happenings of the week and future youth plans. 

    YOUTH COMMITTEE WILL MEET AFTER THE 11:00 SERVICE IN MARY EVELYN’S OFFICE!!! 

    YOUTH GROUP WILL MEET AT 5:30 IN THE FELLOWSHIP HALL FOR A MEAL AND PROGRAM. We will be planning what we want to do and putting them on the calendar. What do YOU want to see the youth accomplish in 2010? Come and bring a friend!! 

    FREE CONFERENCE AT WEST ACRES BAPTIST CHURCH

    FRI. JAN. 15 FROM 7:00 UNTIL 9:00 AND SAT. JAN. 24 FROM 9:00 UNTIL NOON

    The conference is entitled “Age of Opportunity: A Biblical Guide to Parenting Teens”. The speaker is Paul David Tripp, who is a Christian pastor, author and international speaker. You may sign up by emailing Melissa@westacres.org. I have signed up and would love to have someone(s) to go with!!!! I have a copy of the itinerary and it is looks great!!!

    Jeff Bickley has been accepted at USC. He will be the third generation of Bickleys to attend USC and major in Engineering. Anthony Gavalas has been accepted at Francis Marion University and plans to study pre-med.

Let’s join our church family upstairs for the Opening beginning at 9:15 after the 8:15 service. There will be hot chocolate and Christmas carols!!!

 

MANY THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE CHRISTMAS MUSICAL!!! IT REALLY WAS WONDERFUL!!! I was so proud of every single youth who made the time to participate. You looked great, you sang beautifully and I know your church family was very appreciative of your “gift” to them through this program!!!! I know I was!!!

 

Special thanks to Dee Glander, Kristin Bodkin, Susan Thisell and Charlotte Gavalas for once again giving so willingly of their time and expertise and your love. Without you, it would not have happened!!!

 

Don’t forget the New Year ’s Eve service which begins at 7:00 pm on Dec. 31.

 

The first Youth Group meeting of 2010 will be on Sunday, January 10. We will have a meal beginning at 5:30. The program will be about discussing and planning what we want to accomplish in 2010!! Think about it – what do YOU want to see us do in 2010????

 

The 9th / 10th Grade Retreat is January 22 to 24 at Camp Kinard. Please sign up if you are interested in going. Sign up deadline is January 8 and the cost is $25.00.

    There will be a Youth Opening downstairs beginning at 9:15. YOUTH OF ALL AGES ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND!!! There will be treats and hot chocolate and a devotion and we will get caught up on youth happenings. 

There will be a rehearsal for the Christmas Musical on Sunday. It will begin right after the Youth Opening and last through the Sunday school time. PLEASE MAKE PLANS TO BE HERE IF YOU ARE IN THIS PRODUCTION!!! 

Holy Trinity will go Christmas Caroling on Friday, Dec. 18 beginning at 5:30. Please meet at the church about 5:15 if you want to go. The bigger the group, the better the Christmas carols will sound!!! 

The Youth will do their annual Christmas shopping for the Cumbee Center on Saturday, Dec. 19. We will enjoy a meal at Pizza Hut and then go shopping. Let’s meet at the church at noon and take it from there. Please sign up if you want to go. There is a $5.00 charge for this event. 

The Dress Rehearsal for the Christmas Musical will be on Saturday, Dec. 19 beginning at 5:30pm with a pizza party. The rehearsal is scheduled to be completed by 7:15 pm. 

The 2009 Holy Trinity Children’s Christmas Program will be on Sunday, Dec. 20 beginning at 6:00 in the Fellowship Hall. Please plan to attend and bring your family and friends to this much loved and very special event!! There will be refreshments after the program.

JESUS + JUSTICE + JAZZ TOUR EVENT

SAT. DEC. 5 AT ST. STEPHEN LUTHERAN CHURCH IN LEXINGTON

 

This is a unique opportunity to keep the momentum and spirit of the gathering alive and moving!!!

We are asking you, our church family, to partner with us to collect the items that are needed!!!

We have been asked to bring:

  • Loose change for Lutheran Family Services “changing Children” campaign
  • packages of underwear and socks
  • empty 20 oz plastic water bottles for food banks to distribute laundry detergent 
  • plastic grocery bags for food banks to distribute food

 

There is a list of “suggested books” on the youth bulletin boards!!!
