There are so many messages that bombard our lives every day that are based on one timeless truth, God’s Redeeming Love. We have experienced this love in numerous ways, being especially reminded of God’s presence in all of our Januarycelebrations. We remembered, we gave thanks, we worshiped, and we recognized the love of God throughout the accomplishments of the last 60 years. Therefore, remembering God’s Redeeming Love, we look to the future to envision how God’s abundant love will continue to make a difference in our lives. This month we will begin the season of Lent with a worship service on Ash Wednesday, February 22, at 7:00 PM and then continue for five more weeks with a life-changing time of reflection as we Journey To The Cross. The key verse is written in Galatians 2:20, “I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” We will follow the footsteps of Jesus in His last weeks leading up to his sacrificial death and victorious resurrection. The passion account from the Gospels will be our focus. We will have interactive journals, interactive puzzles, coloring activities, singing, and worship to assist us as adults and youth on Jesus’ journey of sacrifice. There will be prayer journals available to lead us through devotional thoughts, prayers, and contemplation. Lent will provide the time for us to stop and reflect for our Journey To The Cross. You are invited, to join together on this Journey To The Cross through the worship time on Wednesday evening, in the church, beginning at 6:30 pm, followed by a meal. Come! Prepare your heart for the Journey To The Cross. |
